New Look & Feel

I have spent the past few days rebuilding this site with an entirely new “Look & Feel.” I hope you find it inviting and easy to use. Please leave a comment and tell me what you think.

  • I like/dislike the colors & balance on the site
  • I like/dislike the functions of the site
  • I find  the site easy/difficult to use
  • Now, I cannot __________________
  • I liked the old site better/worse
  • Or any other comments

I am also concerned about any problems that I may have introduced in the conversion.

  • Dead or misdirected links (cannot find what you asked for)
  • Missing  functions (something that  you could do previously but not now)
  • Articles that are no longer applicable (talking about something that is no longer correct on the site – maybe a step-by-step instruction concerning the {now changed} menu system)
  • Anything that is just incorrect now (probably was thought to be accurate when written but is clearly wrong now)

If you find any of these errors, please post a comment and tell me the Title of the article and what is wrong.

Special thanks go to SRS Solutions who designed the theme for the site and made it available for free! If you operate a WordPress blog, check out their designs.

  1. To answer your questions I'm going to number them and let you know what I think..01 I like/dislike the colors & balance on the site > The website's look is a bit plain for my taste. However, I'm not exactly sure the age of your audience. My taste may not matter if you're main crowd is not in their 30s. .02 I like/dislike the functions of the site > The way your site functions is amazing. Great content and resources. Again, my thought is an audience issue; Some audiences may prefer a more general approach to the tabs. In other words some tabs could be combined as to not overwhelm the user. But the other side of that coin is that others prefer the detailed tabs. I prefer the simple approach. All of your content is just organized into broader headings (tabs). However, since I don't know your audience, only you can answer this question. .03 I find the site easy/difficult to use > The site seems easy to use. I love the ability to add social networking at any point in time!.04 Now, I cannot __________________ > Everything works for me..05 I liked the old site better/worse > Both of your sites were great sites. However, I do like the new one over the older. Great work!.06 Or any other comments > Hope you have a great day! Keep up the good work.

  2. Great Review! Just the kind of feedback I am looking for. I have waffled between more simple tabs and the ones that I have now. Actually one set of menus is my PAGE structure while the other set is the CATEGORY structure. I also have a SERIES structure that ties articles together as a group. As to the color being a bit plain. I guess MY age is showing (grin). Actually, I tried a BOLD color set but the theme did not function as well as this one. This theme is patterned after MS Vista (SOOO “last year”!). Oh well, I cannot have everything! Thanks again for the great feedback. Keep in touch.Ray

  3. Hey! I like the new look. I'm really liking this cool pop-under – is this a part of your theme or is this a WP plugin? I want one! (sounding like Veruca Salt…) 🙂

  4. The bar across the bottom is the Google Friend Connect bar. It is provided by the GFC plugin to WP. Glad you like the site. It has been REALLY difficult to convert everything but I think it is done now. I also rebuilt my http://raywaldo.com site. Let me know if I can help you enable something on your site.
