MySpace, SNL, Technology & You

As with almost anything, there is an upside and a downside to technology. Many ministers have not yet caught up with the Internet or even e-mail but now we have Web 2.0 and social-networking. Sites like MySpace, Facebook & others allow users to interact with each other in ways many may view as weird, worldly,
ego-centric or even dangerous. Indeed some young people have been lured into dangerous situations by sexual predators on these sites.
A new web service (http://www.hulu.com) is now open and allows us to watch movies, tv shows, or clips online. One clip is a Saturday Night Live (SNL)
spoof of a seminar to teach people how to set up a MySpace profile. Although it is humorous, the underlying message (of the potential danger) is real. Enjoy it here.
