God’s Treasures

On Sunday (Feb 10, 08) I spoke about the Scripture “Therefore every teacher of the law who has been instructed about the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old” (Matthew 13:52 NIV). This verse has been difficult for me to understand and I think that many others also have similar feelings.

In order to understand this verse (“understanding” is essential according to Mt 13:51), we must consider the entire story. Matthew 13:1-52 constitutes a single teaching that Jesus gave His disciples. However, I believe that some of us have misinterpreted several of the parables that are part of the story. But God has not placed mysteries in His word without also providing the keys to unlocking those mysteries.

Consider the post “Why Do You Go To Church?” for some related info. You can see that post here.
