Jesus did not visit?

There are many things in the Bible that I do not understand. One of those is the story in Matthew 11:2,3 about John the Baptist. John was in jail and evidently was getting discouraged. He even questioned whether Jesus was the true Messiah

One would suppose that, given such a circumstance, Jesus would rush to his cousin and offer words of encouragement & hope. However, it appears that Jesus did NOT visit John in jail and probably never saw the Baptist alive again. WHY?

  • Why didn’t Jesus go visit His friend and relative?
  • What impact (if any) does (or should) this story have on your personal ministry style?
  • Should the pastor do all the visitation?
